Bridges

Since 1993 York Civil has been delivering bridge projects in remote, marine and built up areas that require significant and complex traffic management solutions. We have enjoyed a long history of providing engineering and construction services to bridge clients throughout Australia, completing more than 50 major bridges in our two decade history.

The level of construction complexity was recently demonstrated during the $564 million Northern Expressway project completed in late 2010. York Civil was responsible for the design and delivery of 16 bridges and major drainage works, which was completed early and during Adelaide's wettest winter in 14 years.

During the construction of the Port River Expressway, which links South Australia's major port to the national roads network, the channel had to remain open to marine traffic at all times. York Civil was responsible for constructing all land based bridges, as well as over and in the water.

York Civil's involvement in bridge projects has included:

  • Bridge construction
  • Road construction
  • Pipe installation
  • Bulk and detailed earthworks
  • Drainage structure
  • Pavement construction
  • Road resurfacing
  • Temporary works
  • Service relocation.

Our bridge projects have been delivered using our own in house people, plant and equipment, often mobilised in short turnarounds and in difficult to reach locations in order to deliver tight programs. We are also skilled in complex traffic management around bridge infrastructure works.
