Defence
At York Civil our defence experience has evolved from our first project 15 years ago for the Australian Submarine Corporation (ASC) to being the preferred contractor for the $100 million ASC Shipyard Redevelopment completed in 2010.
York Civil has delivered defence infrastructure to both the Department of Defence and to defence contractors, on remote sites, operational bases and shipyards. Infrastructure we have delivered on defence sites includes:
- Runways and taxiways
- Base facilities and accommodation buildings
- Services
- Utilities
- Roads
- Pipework
- Wastewater treatment plant repairs
- Pavement sealing
- Fire detection upgrade
- Demolition.
We have project managers who have achieved the appropriate Australian security clearances to work on Defence projects, are well-versed in delivering sensitive projects on operational bases, the capability to work in the vicinity of military operations, and effective management strategies to ensure site security.
We can mobilise workforces in remote locations where challenges such as living away from home accommodation, fly-in fly-out requirements, mobilising plant and equipment, and long-lead time and logistics for materials and specialised items must all be carefully planned and properly managed.
