Integrated Management Systems
Since the company’s inception in 1990, York Civil has undergone significant growth and we have always been adopting more sophisticated business models to meet our growth needs. Our management systems are certified to the following Australian Standards:
- AS/NZS ISO9001:2008 Quality Management Systems
- AS/NZS ISO14001:2004 Environmental Management Systems
- AS/NZS 4801:2001 Occupational Health and Safety Systems.
Accreditation was instrumental in York Civil winning a major design and construction project with the Department for Transport, Energy and Infrastructure’s $564 million Northern Expressway, where we self-performed more than $80 million in works. Since then we have won numerous design and construction and head contract projects.
We also achieved Federal Safety Commissioner’s certification and Austroads National Prequalification (R4, B4, F$100 million) in road and bridges (second highest road category and highest bridge category).
Our fully integrated system is based on the policies and procedures currently in operation within the company, as well as compliance with the appropriate legislation.
When awarded a contract, we identify project-specific management requirements, using client documentation, and will ensure each are incorporated within our management system by including management responses within the Environmental Management Plan, Quality Management Plan, Construction Plan, Community and Stakeholder Plan, Occupational Health and Safety Management Plan, Traffic Management Plan and costing. York Civil will ensure the objectives of our policies and these project-specific system requirements are met through strict adherence to the management plans and a comprehensive internal auditing program.
The improvements identified during construction and at project reviews will then be incorporated into our management systems for application on all future work.
