Marine and Ports

In South Australia York has been delivering successful marine and ports projects since 1995, with the design and construction of a Jetty at Brighton, to in 2010 when we delivered major civil components of the $100 million ASC Shipyard Redevelopment.

Our marine and ports capabilities encompass:

  • Earthworks
  • Piling
  • Concrete works
  • Demolition of existing structures
  • Retaining walls
  • Pavements
  • Mechanical works
  • Trenching
  • Installation of services and utilities
  • Testing and commissioning.

We are also highly experienced at working on or over water and well-versed in managing the stringent safety requirements of such work. We have also managed diving work crews on marine projects and have extensive experience with piling on these projects.

We have delivered marine and ports projects in residential and industrial environments requiring extensive environmental, community and stakeholder management strategies. These have been delivered using our own in-house people, plant and equipment, often mobilised in short turnarounds and in difficult to reach locations in order to deliver tight programs. Our marine capability is backed by our extensive work over water experience gained on major road and Murray River locks and weirs projects.

In 2007 York Civil delivered the Extension of Berth 7 at Port Adelaide, which required strict environmental controls due to the local dolphin population. York Civil is respectful of the marine environment and has stringent controls in place to maintain the integrity of the natural surroundings.
