Mining
At York Civil we have enjoyed a long history of providing engineering and construction services for mining clients on remote sites throughout Australia; namely South Australia, New South Wales, Queensland and Western Australia.
We began mining work at Olympic Dam in 1995 where we are still providing critical services to the mine operations today. The projects include township development, civil and structural capital works, and mine site maintenance.
In the last five years, York Civil has completed successful projects in the gold, uranium, copper and zinc mines, and recently on several projects in the Bowen Basin coal fields. The majority of these are remote projects and have required us to mobilise plant, people and equipment in short turnarounds and in difficult to reach locations in order to deliver tight programs.
We can mobilise workforces in remote locations where challenges such as living away from home accommodation, fly-in fly-out requirements, mobilising plant and equipment, and long-lead time and logistics for materials and specialised items must all be carefully planned and properly managed.
