12 September 2011: York Civil wins the SA Water Central Pipeline Project

York Civil is pleased to announce that York Civil has been awarded the Central Pipeline Design and Construction Package Project, part of SA Water's North South Interconnection System Project (NSISP).

The Central Pipeline contract was won after an intensive tendering period including a detailed presentation to SA Water.

The project consists of the design and construction of approximately 10km of underground water pipeline that will link Adelaide's northern suburbs to water produced by the new Desalination Plant under construction in Port Stanvac.

Construction works will commence shortly and will carry through to mid-2012. The York Civil workforce is expected to peak at approximately 70 people.

This project, along with the re-commencement of the Locks and Weirs project in South Australia's Riverland Region in early 2012, provides York Civil with a strong work load in South Australia over the next 18 months.

Congratulations to everyone who contributed to this win, and we wish the project team luck in delivering this exciting and challenging project.
