The Safety Forum was led by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Employment and Workplace Relations, the Hon Julia Gillard MP, to establish a practical plan of action to secure a sustainable reduction in the rate of injuries and fatalities in the industry. York Civil was excited to help establish the Leadership Charter which is the heart of building a safety culture.

York Civil achieved accreditation under the Australian Government Building and Construction OHS Accreditation Scheme, presented by the Federal Safety Commissioner Ms Helen Marshall. The register of accredited companies can be viewed at www.fsc.com.au

York Civil was also recently presented a Safety Award by Oxiana (now OzMinerals) for achieving 150,000 Manhours Lost Time Injury FREE from August 2007 to June 2008. This is an outstanding achievement and is a credit to all the York Civil personnel associated with the project. Well done and keep being safe!
