Construction of Northern Expressway Underway - 19/09/2008

On Monday 28 July the Minister for Transport, Energy and Infrastructure, the Hon Patrick Conlon MP, marked the start of construction for the $564 Million Northern Expressway with a "sod turning event".

The 23-kilometre, four lane motorway with numerous bridges, high-speed fly-over interchange at Port Wakefield and duplicated bike lane is South Australia's largest road project. York Civil with joint venture partners Fulton Hogan commenced work on 1 September 2008. Construction is expected to be completed by December 2010.
