when they attended the official commencement of construction for the Emmaus College Footbridge Project marked by a ceremonial sod -turning by the local members, Ministers Robert Schwarten and Paul Hoolihan on 23rd July in Rockhampton, Qld.

The Department of Transport and Main Roads awarded Stage 2 of the ECI contract to York Civil in early July. This follows successful completion of Stage 1 Preliminary design and Planning work in April and early works packages in May and June for service relocations, preliminary roadworks, design and procurement. York Civil is now fully established on site and with piling commenced.
 
The project being undertaken as an ECI with the Department of Transport and Main Roads involves a 50m single span footbridge across the Bruce Highway in Rockhampton.
