People
Our approach and the cornerstone of our culture is to self-perform using our own people, plant and equipment in the delivery of our projects. This means we control safety, programming, quality, environment and industrial relations aspects of a project to the highest level to ensure the optimum project outcomes for our clients, our people and the community.
As York Civil performs much of its own work, we therefore employ a large, stable core of key personnel, which number over 300 people at any one time. Our people include project managers, site managers, foremen, safety officers, leading hands, tradespeople and operators who have delivered key infrastructure projects across Australia. Many are long-term employees with more than 10 years’ service and so are well-versed in our systems, processes and culture of excellence in project delivery.
We are experienced in delivering projects with varying site conditions including:
- Occupied sites
- Sites with multiple stakeholder and contractor interfacing
- Operating safely in the vicinity of high voltage equipment or over water
- High-traffic flow areas such as main roads and rail corridors
- Next to or around operating plant
- In remote locations with minimal or no infrastructure support
- Adjacent to community areas
- Environmentally sensitive areas.
