Brighton Jetty – first incrementally launched jetty

York Civil was awarded the design and construction of a new jetty, which is approximately 200m long plus a jetty head and shore connection.

Construction included precast concrete piles, in-situ crossheads with an incrementally launched pre-stressed concrete deck.

York Civil was the project manager delivering design, piling, concrete and reinforcement works, post tensioning, lighting and handrails.

The project was the first incrementally launched jetty in Australia and received a commendation by the Civil Trust of SA Inc for Buildings in their Settings in 1999. Other award winning projects can be viewed here.
