Port River Expressway Stages 1, 2 and 3

The Port River Expressway links South Australia’s major port and rail terminals at Port Adelaide directly with the National Road Network and the interstate mainline rail network.

For Stage 1 York Civil was the primary contractor for the construction of a four lane, 270m bridge using steel box girders with a composite concrete deck, approach embankments applying reinforced earth construction techniques, and a major roundabout intersection.

For Stages 2 and 3 the scope of work included building separate opening road and rail bridges across the Port River. York Civil undertook the construction of temporary works, piling, and earthworks.
