Prominent Hill 132kV Transmission Line

OZ Minerals’ Prominent Hill Mine is located 650km northwest of Adelaide and produces ore concentrate comprising of copper, gold and silver.

York Civil undertook the construction of the footings and associated civil works for the transmission towers for the 150km power line between Olympic Dam and Prominent Hill.

The project comprised the construction of 360 bored footings 600mm in diameter and 4.1m deep. Each footing featured four legs filled with reinforced concrete. There were two types of footings, 330 line footings and 30 angle footings.
