Schofields Road Upgrade and Extension Stage 2

Stage 2 of the Schofields Road Upgrade and Extension between Tallawong Road and Veron Road will offer a major east-west link from Rouse Hill to Marsden Park for motorists travelling in North West Growth Centre.

The works are situated in the outer suburb of Schofields, a semi-rural area situated approximately 40km northwest of Sydney’s central business district.

The scope of works comprises the upgrade of a two lane road to a four lane divided road with a wide central median to increase the road to six lanes if required in the future. The project will include a tree lined transit-boulevard approximately 43m wide and 3km in length.

Bridge works include construction under the existing railway bridge superstructure adjacent to Schofields Railway Station, plus twin 40m long pre-stressed concrete plank bridges over First Ponds Creek, twin 55m long pre-stressed concrete plank bridges over Unnamed Creek and a 54m long pre-stressed concrete super-T girder bridge over Schofields Road at Bridge Street.

A key component of the project involves implementation of detailed and complex traffic management strategies on a route that caters for approximately 12,000 vehicles per day.
