Tablelands Pavement Rehabilitation and Reconstruction

York Civil was awarded the contract for road pavement rehabilitation and reconstruction works within the Cairns, Cassowary Coast and Tablelands Regional Council districts.

The scope of works included construction of culverts, reshaping water tables, stabilised pavements, unbound pavements, chip seal and minor earthworks.

Specific work sites included Yarrabah Road at Pine Creek, Palmerston Highway between Innisfail and Ravenshoe, Japoon Road at both Silkwood and Innisfail, and Mount Molly Road at Mossman.

Works were undertaken over a total of 10.3km of roads separated by 160km. This required detailed planning and work crew resourcing.

An extensive traffic management plan was a key element of the project.
