Rail

At York Civil we have enjoyed a long history of providing engineering and construction services to rail clients in remote areas requiring extensive people, plant, equipment and materials logistic planning, and urban areas that require significant and complex traffic management solutions.

York Civil is currently involved in two projects that will raise the profile of rail in South Australia, namely the Rail Revitalisation and Elizabeth Station Upgrade projects. The Rail Revitalisation project is to be delivered over three years involving the development, design, costing and construction of the upgrade works for the entire Adelaide metropolitan railway network. York Civil is also working with the Department for Transport, Infrastructure and Energy to deliver the Elizabeth Station Upgrade, which is part of the $40 million investment on the Gawler line.

York Civil's involvement in rail projects includes:

  • Demolition works
  • Earthworks
  • Electrical works
  • Pavements
  • Bridge works
  • Landscaping
  • Building works.

Our rail projects have been delivered using our own in house people, plant and equipment, often mobilised in short turnarounds and in difficult to reach locations in order to deliver tight programs.

We are experienced in the working in live rail environments scheduling works around rail transport timetables, and in working to the Rail Safety Act 2007 and AS4292.1 Rail Safety Management.
