Roads
Since 1995 York Civil has been delivering road projects in remote locations requiring extensive logistic management of people, plant, equipment and materials, marine locations requiring safe working methods and specialised construction techniques for work over water, and in dense urban areas that require significant and complex traffic management solutions.
York Civil's involvement in road projects has included:
- Road and round-about construction
- Road resurfacing
- Bridge construction
- Pipe and services relocation and installation
- Bulk and detailed earthworks
- Drainage structure and pavement construction
- Temporary works
- Kerbs
- Water table management
- Footpath paving and property access
- Irrigation
- Landscaping and tree planting.
During the construction of the Port River Expressway, which links South Australia's major port to the national roads network, the channel had to remain open to marine traffic at all times. York Civil was responsible for constructing all land based bridges, as well as associated works in and around the water.
As a link to main transport corridors in Adelaide, the Regency and Muller Intersection Realignment at Hampstead Gardens was challenging due to the need to maintain the existing site and traffic signals while construction was taking place. Comprehensive traffic management plans were implemented and night works were undertaken to limit the disruption to commuters and local businesses.
